Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It’s no secret that diversity, inclusion, and equity are both extremely important topics and extremely complex. We do our best to make this an ongoing conversation, and something we continue to improve upon each month and year we’re in existence.
We were founded on the belief that higher education prepares the leaders of tomorrow and, as such, should be accessible to all. In helping students make the leap from college to career, we are committed to making this opportunity available to students who reflect the vast diversity of the global workforce. We actively recruit, welcome, and champion students from diverse backgrounds in our program.
We believe that the success of our mission to establish experience as a credible form of learning and equipping students with tools to transform our world, is inextricably linked to the diversity of students we bring into our fellowship.
We are committed to the following values and actions:
Diversity:
We commit to increasing diversity in the fields we prepare fellows for by building cohorts representative of the fabric of a global community. This diversity is expressed in a myriad of forms, including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, religious commitments, age, ability status, and political perspective.
Equity:
We recognize the impact that historical and ongoing systems of inequity have had on the access in this country to important resources like education. We aim to change those systems where we can, and to ensure that our own programs create more equitable systems and opportunities, as well as environments that support the dignity and wellbeing of all.
Inclusion:
We work to ensure that our programs and experiences are spaces where differences are welcomed, different perspectives are respectfully heard, and where every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion. We know that by building diverse cohorts and creating a supportive and inclusive climate, we will more effectively leverage the resources of diversity to advance our collective capabilities.
The Whole Person:
We believe our fellows are not just the sum of what they produce. We aim to respectfully and thoughtfully engage them in difficult conversations around purpose and values. We aim to create more than just curriculum and experiences-we design our programs to foster a sense of community. And we aim to be more than just professors and administrators-we will be friends, advisors, and champions of the fellows with whom we work. We fully believe that the future is in our fellows’ hands, and we work in pursuit of supporting every effort to help them build the future they deserve and create a better future for those around them.
